Georeferencing Program Completed
|
|
The Davenport Group has completed georeferencing a municipality’s
150 final plats (what municipality??). The georeferenced plats are
expected to save the municipality considerable amounts of time
looking for, recovering and examining old plats whose names are
sometimes indecipherable? baffling?. It also addresses the problem
of resubdivisions and revisions that changed parcel boundaries and
added, moved and deleted easements. The Davenport Group has added
a Subdivision Finder (Visual Basic program) that loads the
georeferenced plat behind the property layer in ArcView 9.3.
Users can consult the Subdivision table to see if there are other
older plats that affect the property, which can also be viewed.
The planning director projects that this addition will save his
staff more than 400 hours per year and significantly improve their
accuracy as well.
